Stewardship

At The California Surf Lodge® (CASL®), stewardship is more than a value—it’s a promise we’re building toward. As we work to bring this vision to life, we remain deeply committed to honoring the land, ocean, and communities that make California’s coast so special.

Our approach to stewardship is rooted in respect: for the environment, for local culture, for each other, and for future generations of surfers. While our doors aren’t open yet, our intentions are clear. The lodge will be designed with sustainability and regenerative practices at its core—from thoughtful land use and low-impact architecture to partnerships with local producers and conservation groups.

Stewardship also means acknowledging those who’ve come before us. We are committed to recognizing and supporting the indigenous histories and coastal communities that shape California’s surf heritage, history and culture. We envision The California Surf Lodge® as a gathering place where education, service, and surf sport and culture converge.

We’re not just creating a place to stay—we’re building a home base for surfers who care about the places they ride. As this project unfolds, we invite you to be part of a movement that values connection, responsibility, and a shared love for the ocean and each other.
